This model is made of rubber, steel, and resin. It is used by people with impaired vision so they can feel the layout of New York circa 1830s. Mt. Vernon Hotel Museum.

The faces of the people were based on pictures of the original inhabitants.

This was for an exhibit at the NY Historical Society documenting the return of General Lafayette to the US after the revolution.The red drum object was lined with a 360 degree painting of Versailles. When you look in the view port on the left, a periscope allows you to see into the center of the drum. As you turn the crank to rotate the drum you see the entire 360 degrees of the painting.
